This was our second time here and we decided to try the hibachi this time. The experience was really good. He did everything including the onion volcano that you always see on YouTube videos. I liked how the hibachi chef was very attentive to each order, even though there were multiple parties in front of him to serve. I was the only person out of six to ask different vegetables. When the waitress delivered the vegetables for the chef to cook, I noticed him Tell her to take some of the vegetables back and ensure that they were corrected from my order. The food was prepared perfectly and abundant enough to have dinner for the next day. Keep in mind that the person next to us had the same amount of food and was able to finish it in one sitting so I guess it depends on the person. We also ordered sushi; of fried salmon roll that was also prepared very well. The hibachi is a cool experience, but I think overall I prefer regular dining. I really enjoyed the automated robot server that brings food items to each table. It's just something cool and refreshing that you don't get much of in Warner robins. The reason I gave this place four stars is because we had to wait quite a while until almost all of the seats around the hibachi were filled. This took almost 20 minutes before we even ordered. I also don't like automatic gratuity being added. I completely understand why this is done, but I don't agree with it. We were advised by the hostess before we were seated, so I appreciate knowing up front, I just don't agree with the practice of adding 18% gratuity. That's a lot, and assumes that the experience will be that good for the customer. I do highly recommend Meakan. I will definitely come back. Like I said I probably will dine in the main area from now on, but I do recommend checking out the hibachi at least once.

Good place for Americanized Japanese cuisine. Probably better than most in the WR area. Very casual and family friendly. Robot delivery and friendly staff. Place could use some fresh paint or remodeling and a deep clean is recommended. But the food is good, fairly priced and portioned.

This is a nice big clean Japanese steakhouse restaurant. They have the grill seating and also a sushi bar. I had the filet mignon and shrimp off the grill with fried rice and side vegetables. The filet mignon is so tender. It takes no effort to chew it which is just the way I like my steak. The shrimp are about medium sized but you only get four. They give you the Yum Yum sauce on the side but you have to ask for the ginger steak sauce Which they don't give out freely. I also ordered sushi from the sushi menu. The service is pretty fast and somewhat friendly, mostly kind of indifferent. If you sit at the grill tables, there is a 18% gratuity they put on automatically no matter whether you're dining alone or more than one. Are used to like the show you get at the grill when ordering the food but now it's the bare minimum they do, I guess they feel they don't need to entertain you anymore. I see that at most Japanese steak houses now. I did enjoy my food and the company of total strangers that was very friendly. Even if you die, in alone, you may sit next to others and make new friends for an hour.

I dined with some friends at MeAkan Japanese Sushi and had a great experience. The standalone restaurant located about 10 minutes from the base has a nice atmosphere. We were greeted and seated quickly in the booths away from the hibachi grills. The service throughout the meal was good, with attentive and efficient staff. The food definitely stood out. We all started with a salad and house beef soup, both were fresh and tasty. The sour had friend onions that I could have done without, but the broth was flavorful. The highlight, though, was the Spider-Man sushi roll. It was not only huge but also delicious, with fresh ingredients and great flavor. It was practically the size of two rolls. I couldn't finish it. One fun thing about this restaurant is the robot waiter. It delivers our dishes to us. It plays some fun music and has a cute happy face. The only challenge was that we didn't know which dish went to which one of us as a few folks ordered close to the same thing. Luckily, our human waitress showed up and helped us get dishes to the right person. Overall, MeAkan Japanese Sushi was a nice surprise with quick service and excellent food. The Spider-Man roll is a must-try.
